YouGov, the chief statistics company in the UK surveyed over 2,000 adults in the UK to identify what the public attitude is to mobile marketing and while this is framed more around mobile network operators marketing to their customers there are still some great statistics we can take away.
Some of the key stats:
- 65% of smartphone owners are happy to receive offers via their mobile phones.
- 75% prefer to receive offers via SMS rather than any other mobile marketing channel.
- 83% of people would be happy to receive offers up to twice a month.
Ultimately it seems that SMS is the most welcome form of mobile marketing from a customer’s point of view and the consistently high open rates make it perfect for those wishing to keep in touch with their customers.
